TASTING NOTES:
This elegant wine begins with aromas of blackberry, black cherry and sandal wood. Flavors of black currant, fennel and lavender are followed by soft acidity and spiced fruit finish.
WINEMAKER NOTES:
The 2014 vintage in Napa Valley continued the recent trend of warm, dry growing conditions. With the warm spring weather, the vines were off to a strong and healthy start. While California experienced strong drought conditions, the dry heat actually helped the vines to grow powerfully concentrated, high-quality fruit. As harvest began the weather cooled slightly, this slowed the ripening of the grapes and allowed the grapes to develop more complex and impressive flavors.
Our 2014 Limited Release Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is composed from different vineyards from across the Napa Valley. The grapes are primarily sourced from vineyards located in the mountains. These mountain top vineyards are known for creating wines with intense power and concentration. A smaller portion of the grapes comes from the valley floor, which help to balance and soften the texture.
