Description
By selecting small lots of only the finest fruit from premiere Napa Valley vineyards, using specially selected barrels, and meticulously blending until we achieve perfection is the manner in which we create Bucephalus.
The 2013 Bucephalus was crafted using some of the best grapes found in the Napa Valley. The fruit was harvested from vineyards at high elevations in the mountain AVAs of Diamond Mountain, Howell Mountain and Atlas Peak. The high elevations are the ideal growing environment for producing fruit with huge concentration and immense depth. We also harvested grapes grown in the well-balanced and temperate AVAs of Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley and Oakville. The slightly cooler climates of these appellations create wines with excellent balance and vibrant acidity. We blended a small portion of Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Merlot into the Bucephalus to help knit the blend together. The Syrah brings a deep quality to the blend. Together, these vineyard blocks create a powerful and well-structure wine.
