Description
Howell Mountain is especially well suited to grow intensely flavored grapes due to the combination of volcanic, iron laden soils and high elevation. The soil is lean which naturally limits the vigor of the grapevines. Limiting the vigor of the grapevines concentrates the flavors in the grapes which increase the fruit intensity of the finished wine. The high elevation impacts the microclimate of the site. Large swings between day and night temperatures allow for even ripening and maintaining a vibrant acidity in the grapes. These unique growing conditions lead to very potent but balance expression of Cabernet Sauvignon.
