The Barrel Reserve Pinot Noir opens with aromas of black cherry, brown sugar, cola and rose petal, complemented by flavors of ripe plum, blackberry and spice. This medium body wine exhibits balanced acidity and tannin, with a long finish.
Los Carneros is one of Napa Valley’s coolest growing regions. The morning fog and afternoon winds, originating from the San Pablo Bay, help to create the cool climate influence in Los Carneros.
The 2016 vintage began with very little rain, bud break occurred between the end of February and early March. With warm and dry spring and early summer, the vines develop healthy canopies and fruit set was balanced. The growing season was lengthened due to cool summer. September had a few heat spikes to push fruit to optimal sugar levels. The 2016 vintage was very balanced and ideal for producing wines with excellent flavor and resolved tannins.
